The Design + Operations Assistant supports both the technical execution and day-to-day operations of Bungalow Interior Design. This role is integral to how projects move from concept to completion, translating design intent into clear technical drawings, keeping details organized, and ensuring the studio’s workflows run smoothly.
This is a role for someone who values balance: creativity and precision, structure and flexibility, independence and collaboration.
About Us
Bungalow Interior Design is a Winnipeg-based residential design studio creating homes that feel both timeless and lived in. Founded by Corina and Rachel, Bungalow has grown through word of mouth, long-standing client relationships, and a shared belief that great design should feel as comfortable as it is considered.
Our work is rooted in balance — form and function, beauty and practicality, history and modern living. Influenced by mid-century modern principles, we design homes that are honest, enduring, and deeply personal. As our studio continues to grow, we’re looking for thoughtful, capable team members who want to contribute meaningfully to both the work and the culture of the studio.
1. Technical Drawing & Design
Produce and maintain accurate technical drawings including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
Translate design intent into clear, buildable drawings for contractors and consultants.
Revise drawings based on design development, pricing feedback, and site conditions.
Maintain drawing standards, schedules, and specifications, and ensure consistency across all project documentation.
2. Procurement & Project Logistics
Manage procurement of design samples as specified by designers.
Manage procurement for furniture, fixtures, and materials.
Prepare and execute purchase orders.
Track orders, deliveries, lead times, and deficiencies.
Coordinate with vendors to resolve delays, damages, or discrepancies.
Maintain organized procurement records and status updates for each project.
3. Project Setup & Workflow Management
Set up new projects in related software, including tasks, timelines, and workflows.
Build and refine project templates and internal workflows.
Support adherence to established processes and flag gaps or inefficiencies.
Assist with construction scheduling, document organization, and project coordination.
4. Studio Operations & Administration
Improve and support development, documentation, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Maintain organized digital filing systems and project archives.
Assist with general studio administration and coordination.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team.
Requirements:
Diploma or degree in Environmental Design, Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or a related field
3–5 years experience as a draftsperson (residential experience strongly preferred)
Strong proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Solid knowledge of design principles, space planning, and materials.
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations is an asset.
Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
A passionate, proactive, collaborative mindset with a sharp eye for detail.
Experience in customer service (retail or food service) is an asset—we love working with people who know how to handle clients and keep things running smoothly.
How the Work Will be Measured
Success in this role is less about being busy and more about being reliable, thoughtful, and consistent. We’ll know you’re doing well when:
Technical drawings are accurate, clear, and buildable, with minimal revisions required by contractors or consultants.
Drawing sets are organized, current, and aligned with studio standards at every phase of a project.
Design intent is clearly translated into documentation, even as projects evolve.
Procurement is handled proactively, with orders placed accurately, tracked diligently, and issues flagged early.
Projects move forward smoothly because details, timelines, and information are well managed.
Internal systems and workflows feel easier, clearer, and more efficient with your involvement.
The design team can focus on creative and client-facing work because they trust the details are handled.
You follow through, communicate clearly, and take ownership of your responsibilities without needing constant oversight.
The Ideal Candidate
You are:
A details guru - proud of precision and take genuine satisfaction in keeping details, drawings, and systems organized and accurate. You feel unsettled when things are incomplete or unclear and naturally work to bring order and clarity.
Proactive and thoughtful, anticipating needs, spotting gaps, and solving problems before they become issues. You care about doing things properly, not just quickly, and you value integrity, follow-through, and accuracy in your work.
Technically skilled, with strong drafting and CAD abilities, and you enjoy translating design intent into clear, buildable documentation. You are creative, but excited by a role that blends design with operations, execution, and structure.
Calm, methodical, and able to manage multiple details without losing sight of the bigger picture. You work comfortably and independently while also collaborating closely with a team, asking thoughtful questions and contributing meaningfully.
Drawn to a small, collaborative studio where your contributions are visible and valued. You respect established processes, enjoy refining and improving systems over time, and are interested in growing with a studio built on trust, accountability, and long-term working relationships.

Must be a current resident of Winnipeg. Flexible hybrid schedule (office + remote work).
Must be available weekdays, 9 AM – 5 PM, with occasional early mornings or evenings.
